We have had a couple of fairies come to our house the past month! The 'Good Fairy' came for Abby. She had such GOOD manners all day long (even got a GOOD note from her teacher), so the Good Fairy came while she was sleeping. She left some lipstick for Abs!
Then, we had the 'Toothbrush Fairy' visit both Abs and Brayden. Both kids brushed their teeth every day for an entire week so the fairy visited (I brushed my teeth every day too - don't know why I didn't get anything!). She brought a toothbrush, book, chocolate pumpkin, ghost light and then either a movie or puzzle. What an awesome fairy!
The other day we attempted sugar cookie decorating. Abby did pretty good, but Brayden just ate them. He would put a little icing on and then take a bite. Silly Brayden!

Birthday Dinner
We had the best time at Abby's birthday dinner. We asked our families and neighbors over to have some dinner and cake for Abby's birthday. To our delight, everybody was able to make it! It was the best couple of hours - eating and laughing with those that mean so much to us. I think I actually had a better time than Abs did!
Of course she was spoiled with presents - a matching outfit like her cousin Brailee, walkie-talkies, tons of makeup, writing pad and pens, books and a scooter ... just to name a few! I got a kick out of the scooter - Abs was inside with Brailee, so Brayden decided he would give it a spin. You can totally tell by the smirk on his face that he knows he is doing something his sister won't approve of.
Here are a few pics from the amazing dinner. The first and last pics are my favorite - first one because that laughter is infectious and the last one because what an amazing group of people we have in our lives!

Happy Birthday, Abby!
How is it that my baby is celebrating her 4th birthday? I know we all say it, but it really seems like just yesterday we found out we would be having a baby and then she was here and then she turned one and then two and then three and now, four years old!
Last night when Abby got out of the shower, she ran and got her curlers. We haven't done curlers in several months, so I have no idea why she wanted to do it for her birthday. At any rate, we got our hair in curlers so she would be oh so pretty for school today.
This morning we woke up early and Abs got to open her presents. She even let little brother help unwrap the presents. Her big gift was a Leapster Explorer - or as she would tell you 'an iPad'. Funny thing about the iPad, we do not own one and we don't talk about them. However, she has been talking about wanting an iPad. When she opened that present, she was so excited!
After she opened gifts, I cut her bangs (okay, butchered is probably more approriate). They were so long and I trimmed them - that wasn't enough - so I trimmed them a little more. Oooops! All I can hope for is that her hair grows fast!

Shirts, shirts and more shirts!
I have gotten on this shirt kick. I saw on a blog the other day about painting shirts with freezer paper. Well, I just had to try it ... and I am addicted!
The pictures didn't turn out great, but Brayden's shirt is painted brown and Abby's shirt is painted with pink glitter paint. I got some of the shirts on clearance at Wal-Mart ... each shirt with paint ended up costing me under $5!
I also wanted to do pumpkin shirts for Abby and Brailee. I was pretty impressed how they turned out being they were a first for me. My mom has some tips for making them last longer, so I will be trying out a few different techniques. Which means I will be making more shirts!

Brayden Wins Gold!
When the summer Olympics were going on, Brayden's class was also participating in their own Olympic games. We are so proud to annouce that Brayden won gold in 'Body Slamming'!
I hope you can read the article that his teachers wrote. I was almost in tears when I read it. They really know our little man!
Way to go Brayden!!!!

Island Park in Winfield, KS
On our way to Wichita, we stopped at the Island Park in Winfield, KS. This is the nicest public park I have ever been to! Because we were only driving through town, we didn't get to stay very long. We could have spent hours at the park - needless to say, we will be making another trip to Winfield when we have time to stay.
The park was destroyed a couple of years ago by fire, but the community came together and re-built the amazing play area. In addition to the play ground, they have really nice walking trails. We cannot wait to go back!

Future Fashion Designer?
Abby always insists on dressing herself in the morning. For the most part, I let her pick out what she wants to wear - I draw the line when she wants to wear long sleeves and pants when it is 100+ outside. She dresses herself and then will ask us 'how do I look'? You usually have to try and not laugh because she looks pretty interesting.
We have to lock her closet door because she likes to get in there throughout the day and change clothes. The other day it wasn't locked. She came out in this outfit ... interesting. She then decided to add some leg warmers ... hmmm - that totally made the outfit! (In case you are wondering, NO - she didn't wear this outside the house)
A few notes:
shirt - size 18 months (she went through the pile of give-away clothes)
skirt - size 8 girls (this skirt is HUGE and is tied together w/a chip clip)
hat - part of a Halloween costume
bracelets (in first pic) - ponytail holders
If you need any help selecting an outfit, I am sure Abs would love to help you!

Day in Cushing
We spent this past Saturday in Cushing. We went to the quilt show, played at the park with Koby and went to some of Koby's football game. Brayden LOVED the game and Abs LOVED the cheerleaders. As always, the time there was too short but we had a good time.
Abs and Brayden absolutely love Koby, which you can totally tell in the pictures what they think of him. I hope they never lose the love they have for each other.
