This will come back to haunt you ...

When Abby & Brayden are not making a peep upstairs, I know something is going on.

Well, yesterday I was wrapping up a few things with work and the kids were behaving upstairs for me (yeah, right!). After about 10 minutes, they came running downstairs and was like "look at us - aren't we so pretty?!?!". Somehow I was able to reply "why yes - you are very pretty" without busting out laughing.

These pictures will definitely come back to haunt them some day, but I couldn't resist sharing ...

Oh how I love these 2 kiddos ...

Abs: Why yes, these are a pair of PANTY HOSE!
Brayden: How does this helicopter hat work?

Abs: Here bubba - let me button this for you.

14 Years

It absolutely blows my mind that 14 years ago today Brian & I said "I DO". I can remember the day like it was just yesterday.

Obviously the best part of the day was marrying my best friend. It was also wonderful to celebrate the day with our family and friends. Another part of the day that I completely loved was wearing the wedding dress that my mom made. I still don't know how she did it, but it was completely breath-taking and I was so honored to wear it.

I look back at what all we have done in the 14 years, which thankfully were filled with more good times than bad. One thing that has been pinging me like crazy over the past few months is how the 'little kids' have grown up! Take my flower girl - she is now out of high school and living on her own - WHAT?!?! My junior brides maid - she now has her own design company, Amanda Moore Designs - SERIOUSLY?!?!? BOTH of our candle lighters are now married, one already has a child and the other one is expecting - NO WAY!

I am so thankful Brian came into my life at the KU/OU football game. What an amazing journey we have been on since that day. Cannot wait to see what happens next!

First Day of School!

I cannot believe it - Abby had her first day of PreK today! She was so excited about it!

Last week we went and met the teacher and got to see her classroom. Today she had a trial day - only going to school for 1.5 hours. During trial day, they get to practice getting in/out of the car, seeing the playground, visiting the library, going to the cafeteria, getting to know some of her classmates and getting her first homework assignment! Today was also the only day that you are allowed to walk your kids to the classroom. Of course Abs did NOT need me to walk her to her classroom - I could just drop her off at the car line. (wow - okay then, break my heart!) It was so crazy watching her get out of the car and go into school and then me pick her up afterwards. I kinda feel like a 'real' parent now.

Starting Wednesday she will begin her full-day school schedule. We will take both kiddos to daycare and then Abs will ride the daycare bus to/from school. Such the big girl, but this really freaks me out. Brian & I have had a kazillion talks about her not going home with anybody other than her daycare bus. Can she go home with mom - no ... dad - no ... school teacher - no ... daycare teacher - no ... mame & pape - no ... policeman - no ... auntie man - no ... friends parent - no ... daycare car (not bus) - no ... nana - no ... santa - no ... basically, she can ONLY go home on the daycare bus. Can you tell this I am a little freaked out about her going home with the wrong person?!?

The other cool thing about starting school, is lunch with Mame'! My mom takes the grandkids to a very special lunch to start the school year. This was the first year that Abs got to go - she felt very special!

Here is to adventures with Abby's first day of school ...
